– with Mark McKenzie Part 14

“Put It All Together In A Chord Progression”

The best way to learn new chords is to start playing them alongside other chords in a chord progression.

In this video we use the Rock Strum I showed you a the previous lessons and the chords A, D and G.

Enjoy.

Sincerely,

Holy crap man! Thanks a lot for this Mark. I’ve been struggling a lot transitioning to the G chord since last lesson. Amazing tip, cheers mate!

  2. Paul Lewis

This may sound strange but what is the proper way to use a metronome ex.(do you play on each on the end of each swing of the arm) ? I need to know the proper way to use the metronome.

Thank you for your timr I appreciate it very much,

    Paul

    1. Mark McKenzie

Hi Paul, the swing of the arm doesn’t matter, it’s the click that matters. Play to the click and you will be fine.

  3. PETE BIANCO

COOL NEVER LOOKED AT IT THAT WAY. I ALWAYS PLAYED MY G CORD WIYH FINGERS 123 3 BEING ON THE HIGH E STRING

  4. michael bogacu

Never picked up a guitar till 3 weeks ago and I’m 57. I’ve learned “Hearts on Fire” by Bryan Adams by putting your lessons into practice. I signed up for the 12 months access and can’t thank you enough…now I even learned a barre chord this morning. Making my dream come true.

    Hi Mark

You are doing fabulous job by providing tips to beginners like us. Keep continuing it. I am 42 year old and for me sparing time for practice is really difficult which could be because of fatigue after office hours. How much time do I need to spare for practicing? I have goal of 2-3 year for being good guitarist. Will I be able to achieve it?

    1. Mark McKenzie

I’m 42 too 🙂 Regular practise times and sessions are more important than doing a lot of practise in my opinion. It’s about habits and having fun. The time frame is tough though, because ‘good’ is vague. What is good? Your goal would be better to be an action goal eg To practise for 20 minutes every day without fail for 90 days. That is more measurable and less vague..also it’ll help establish the habit of playing regularly.

I thought these 2 weeks have been very helpful for a beginner like me. So I signed up for the year long course , so I can take it at my pace. Thanks very much Mark.

I’m unable to view the video after 19 sec. Is there any other link?

    1. Mark McKenzie

Could be an internet speed issue. Try turning HD off on the video player and see if that works.
