The Modern G Chord

2 Week ‘Kick Start’ Beginner Guitar Course
– with Mark McKenzie Part 13

“The Modern G Chord”

The G chord brings a nice rich sound to the acoustic guitar. Today, I’m teaching you the Modern G chord rather than the Old School G which is just a little bit dated.

Watch the video to find out more.

Sincerely,
mark-sig

This chord is easier to play ( I find ) by using the third finger to bar the B & the E string rather than bringing the pinkie into the equation

Hi Don, Mark’s away for a bit so I’m replying to posts on the blog. The acoustic guitar Mark is using in the videos is a Maton EM225C. As you can hear in the videos, it’s a great sounding guitar, and very nice to play. Regarding the Zager brand… I believe their guitars are made in the Sigma factory in Asia… they have some pretty bad reviews online… type in ‘where are zager guitars made?’ click on any of the top links and you’ll see what I mean.

Hi Paul, I’m not sure what you mean by not on, but I had Jerry comment to say that this video wasn’t working for him a couple of days ago. It’s working fine here. Can you confirm if it is working for you? Anyone else having trouble viewing this video?

Hi Jerry, It’s working fine here. Can you try turning ‘HD’ mode off on the video player to see if that helps?
